Twelve Tips for June 2020 BEFORE You Start Studying:
Here are my 12 tips that you should know and imbibe before you start your prep for the upcoming exam(s) in June 2020:
1. Quickly REVIEW the curriculum
2. Talk to people who recently passed that level for ADVICE
3. Identify your STRONG and WEAK topics in advance
4. PLAN studies by reading , by week. Plan to finish one round by late April
5. Budget time for PRACTICE till late April. CFA demands tons of practice whether MCQs, item sets or essay
6. Identify WHERE you’ll practice Qs from. Easier now, tougher later.
7. Plan for REVISION. You’ll have forgotten a lot by end April and your 3 week revision should start in early May
8. If you’re repeating any level, be aware of curriculum CHANGES ( and do NOT use 2019 materials!)
9. Arrange your work & travel schedule with no DISRUPTIONS so that from 5 Jan to end April you log weekly minimum 25 hours (level I) and 30 hours ( level II and III).
10. For Level I, if you’ve a WEAK finance or accounting background , plan for min 30 hours a week
11. For your weak topic/s, study from the CFA curriculum. This will take time so budget for that
12. ETHICS must be read from the CFA curriculum, not prep material
Start training for the battle.
